Atikokan Fire Rescue has rescinded the Total Fire Ban within the municipal boundaries, effective 12:01 a.m. Thursday, August 20, 2026.

As a result, previously suspended fire permits are now reinstated, and burning may resume in accordance with all applicable fire regulations and permit requirements.

Residents are reminded to exercise caution when conducting any outdoor burning and to ensure that all fires are properly attended and fully extinguished.
