Mount Fairweather Ski Hill
The Mount Fairweather Ski Hill is located approximately 15km outside Atikokan, off Highway 622. The Ski Hill was created by volunteers and continues to be maintained by the Atikokan Ski Club, with assistance from the Town. The 106m vertical rise makes Mount Fairweather the greatest vertical drop in the Rainy River District. Mount Fairweather is proud to offer skiiers of all skill levels 12 different runs to choose from, 2 lifts and a full service chalet with washrooms, a sun deck and a canteen. Mount Fairweather is open weekends and holidays from late December to late March, weather dependant.
The Beaten Path Nordic Ski Club is a volunteer organization that maintains 35km of groomed skate ski and classic cross country ski trails in Atikokan and the surrounding area.
The Club also grooms the Little Falls Golf Course in the winter, which is available for skiing, skate skiing and snowshoeing to all residents of Atikokan for free. Atikokan is also only 40km down Highway 11 from another 35km of beautiful wilderness ski trails in Quetico Park.
